Today is my birthday. I'm officially 22 years old now! w00t!

I don't know how to celebrate my birthday though. My friends don't know each other, and they run the gamut of personalities so they would probably not interact smoothly when placed in the same room. Some are the quintessential starving artists, some are intellectual weirdos, while some are romantic idealists. Some speak in Waray, some speak in Cebuano, while some speak in Tagalog and in English.

I'll probably just celebrate my birthday in small sets. Tonight will be the night reserved for my girlfriend. :)

Yey, I can now buy the MacBook. I've already reserved it, so I no longer have to worry about other people outbidding me. I'll just wait a few days. Hihi. :)

Mars has been prodding me to find a buyer for her Nokia 6680 Smartphone with free 1GB, 256MB, and 64MB cards. Ang kuleeet... dire lage ak mapalit kay titirokon ko para hit MacBook. :p She's offering it at 9T (negotiable). Nokia 6680 usually has a price range of around 11T-12T here in Cebu, so this is a good deal. Her reason for selling is that she wants to buy a higher model.

This is a 3G phone. You can find more info on the phone specs here: http://www.nokia.com.ph/nokia/0,8764,71647,00.html.

Ang kuleeeeet... :p

Waaa... there's a slightly-used MacBook being sold at a bargain price. I don't have enough cash at the moment though. If I wait a few days, chances are it will be gone. *sigh*

MacBook is so beautiful. I don't really intend to use OS X because I prefer to use the command line (I'll dual-boot it with FreeBSD + fluxbox), but the hardware is really sexy.

Blame this on Lani... If you're reading this Lani, it's all your fault. You let me explore your Mac a few hours before I serendipitously came upon this bargain. Aaargh! You and your sexy Mac. Stop tempting me! Aaaaaaaaaargh! =)

I'm expecting a surge of extra zeros in my bank account in the next few days. I need to use it wisely, and use it for something that will be more or less a good investment.

I've been canvassing for laptops that hit the sweet spot on price, feature set, and form factor. My initial plan was to buy an Acer Travelmate (I forgot the exact model), but Acer seems to be the fad these days, at least in this part of the country. Acer is OK, but I don't want to buy something that is popular. I don't know why I don't like anything that is popular. It's just me, I guess. Britney Spears is very pretty, but I don't like listening to her songs because they're popular.

I'm such a geek for equating a laptop with Britney. =)

Anyway, if no unpredictable event happens within a week or so, I should still be able to sustain myself after buying an HP 520 laptop. I should be able to recover its cost after a few months if I decide to continue doing freelance projects. This should financially bootstrap me so that I can go back to college next year. I'm not yet giving up my dream of having a B.S. degree, or even an M.Sc. and/or Ph.D. in Computer Science. I've been discouraged a couple of times in the past, but I'm not yet giving up on this.

So many things to do, so little time. I wish I could clone myself so that me and my clones can work in parallel. Or maybe I could live for more than a hundred years so that I could have enough time to satiate my curiosity. So many things in the universe still unexplored. So many ideas not yet turned into reality.

Oh well, back to work...
