Latin is confusing because the word order is weird. I found a mental shortcut for comprehending some Latin sentences by thinking in Waray:
Latin: Predicta domina tenet dimidium mercatum nova carta.
English: The aforesaid lady holds half a market by a new charter.
Waray: Adto nga doña nakapot hin tunga nga merkado han kanan bag-o nga kasuratan.
It doesn't always work, but what the heck:
Latin: Ego dimidium manerium filiabus predictis domini do.
English: I give a half manor to the aforesaid daughters of the lord.
Waray: Ako kay tunga nga hacienda para han mga hija hadto nga don it ak ighahatag.
